Coronavirus Art Rock Festival

March 11, 2020

It is with great regrets that we have to cancel MYSTERY and HUIS participation to the ARTROCK festival 2020, Reichenbach Germany April 3-4

After a week of thinking and many scenarios considerations, we all have come to the conclusion that it would be safer for both MYSTERY and HUIS not to leave Canada this month. The risks of flying 2 bands to Europe at this time (financially and for the health and safety of the bands and everyone) is too high to take a chance.

Both bands are really sorry about this, we would never want to do this to Uwe and all the people at the ArtRock festival, and we think about all our fans as well and understand that you may be disappointed but the uncertainty of the situation leaves us with only one choice, and for the safety of all, we need to stay home

We hope that you understand and we hope to be back at ArtRock in a near future

Please take care, and we are positive that this situation will resume soon.

The Sailor and the Mermaid by Joe Cairney and Friends

May 21, 2019

Hello Mysterions, our friend Joe Cairney from the band Comedy of Error has just released a very cool version of the MYSTERY song The Sailor and the Mermaid and it is for the Firefighters Charity  a very good cause. Check it out and make it your own for your music collection and at the same time support these men and women who risk their lives everyday to save ours.

The Sailor and the Mermaid

by Joe Cairney and Friends

This track was written by Michel St-Pere from Canadian band Mystery and was from their album "Beneath The Veil Of Winters Face". I chose to record this track using various musician friends from all over the world as I love it and it's my all time favourite song.
I'm raising money for the Firefighters Charity as it's a something very close to my heart. I was in the fire service for nearly thirty years and the only source of income they get is through charitable donations from firefighters.

Every single penny raised will go to the charity as there are no overheads except for the cut that Bandcamp take for making the track available for download.

I hope you enjoy my version of this great track and that you will send the link to many friends so we can raise as much money as possible for the Firefighters Charity.
Many thanks again for your purchase,
Joe Cairney

1996 MYSTERY - Theatre of the Mind 2018 re-issue

October 01, 2018

1996, the first full length MYSTERY Album was released, Theatre of the Mind was also the very first CD to be released on the Unicorn Records label.  Recorded on 16 tracks, just at the beginning of the internet, the album made its way slowly, mostly under the radar of the progressive rock community. Although the album contained all the elements and is considered the blue print for the music of MYSTERY, no one would predict that MYSTERY would become one of the most popular prog band to come out of Canada, nor did anyone could predict that Unicorn Records would release in the next 2 decades more than one hundred albums.

22 years later, Unicorn Digital is proud to re issue the first MYSTERY full length album.   In 2017 the 16 track audio tapes have been restored and transferred in digital. Completely re-mixed by Michel St-Pere in the best tradition of the MYSTERY sound while respecting the original performance of the band also featuring Gary Savoie, Benoit Dupuis, Michel Painchaud, original artwork created by late drummer Stephane Perreault and mastering by bassist Richard Addison. The new version of MYSTERY – Theatre of the Mind, will be released October 25th.  The album released in DIGIPAK will also be released on vinyl via our partner Polish label Oskar Records. 50 minutes, 10 songs plus one bonus track ( not available on the vinyl version )

MYSTERY welcomes new keyboardist Antoine Michaud

August 18, 2016

MYSTERY would like to welcome new keyboardist Antoine Michaud into the band.
Antoine is not new to the Mystery family, in 2014 when Sylvain Moineau was not able to tour Europe with the band, we needed a temporary replacement and 21 year old Antoine Michaud was proposed, he learned all the song on guitar and after a few rehearsals he flew to Europe with Mystery for the 2014 The World is a Game tour.
After the ProgDreams 2016 Show in The Netherlands, Benoit Dupuis who has been a Mysteron since the very beginning decided that it was time for him to leave the band and pursue other things in life. We will always be grateful for Benoit’s contribution in Mystery and he is a great friend, we wish him all the best.
Guitarist Antoine Michaud now 23 years old was contacted for the job on July 5th 2016 knowing that there was a show in Veruno Italy 2 months later. He gladly accepted the challenge, got the equipment, learned all the song this time on Keyboards and debut his first keyboard gig in Italy with the Mysterons.
Words from Antoine: '' I had the pleasure to get to know Benoit and play with him as my band mate in 2014. He is a wonderful keyboardist and a very funny guy. I wish him only the best for the future! I'm very excited to be back with my brothers of Mystery and I'm looking forward to meet every one of you at future concerts. Prog on my friends!''
Welcome aboard Antoine Michaud !!!!
